The annual Locomotion 10K/5K Run and 1.5 Mile Walk kicked-off events for the second day of the Brownwood Reunion Celebration on Saturday.   Runners for the 10K kicked-off the race and started around 7:50am Saturday morning followed soon after by the 5K runners and then the walkers.

Organizers said that more than 500 entries were taken for the races, a new record for the Reunion event.

The Brownwood High School cross country team took the first place trophy in the team category in both the 10K and 5K.  The high school runners split into two groups to take the top spot in both categories.

Darian Smith was the overall female winner in the 5K division with a time of 21:29.90 and Jacob Moore was the overall male winner in the 5K with a time of 18:13.10.

Becky Trump was the overall female winner in the 10K with a time of 43:41.70 and Cameron McLaughlin was the overall male winner in the 10K with a time of 36:39.10.
