A Turkey Hunter’s BBQ is being hosted by the Winchell Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, March 31 at the Winchell VFD Fire House.

Brisket, chicken and sausage with sides of beans, potato salad, desert and ice tea will be served from 11am to 8pm at a cost of $8 per plate.

Organizers described the quality of the meats and the care that goes into cooking this feast.

“Winchell’s world famous brisket is slow cooked over mesquite coals for 16 hours simmering in sweet and tangy BBQ sauce.  Our chicken is marinated in a special rub then slow cooked for four hours over mesquite wood.  Our sausage is the best money can buy and can’t be beat,” said one organizer of the event.

The public is invited to come enjoy a great meal and reminded to buy raffle tickets for the $2000 Beretta King Ranch edition shotgun, $500 Wal-Mart gift card and diamond jewelry at the BBQ dinner.  Cost of raffle tickets is 6 tickets for $5.
