riggsFuneral services for Wilson Riggs, 55, will be held at 4pm Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Early First Baptist Church with Brother Eddie Ailshie officiating. Visitation will be held at 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Ernest “Wilson” Riggs passed away Monday October 8, 2012 while on a work assignment in Singapore.

Wilson was born in San Saba on December 8, 1956 to Mary Lou Riggs. His brothers were William Dale Riggs and Hanes Neil Riggs, and sister Billy Faye Berryhill.

On June 24, 1977 Wilson married Penny Kay Jennings in San Saba and was blessed with two daughters, Holli and Amy. He began his career at 3M in October 1996.

Wilson enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking in his shop, collecting, repairing and restoring antique clocks, going on cruises, and capturing moments with his camera.

Wilson was a member of Early First Baptist Church where he and his two daughters were saved and baptized together in 2001.

Wilson is survived by his wife Penny Kay Riggs, daughter Holli Kay Fenton and husband Ryan Fenton, daughter Amy Lee Ann Riggs and fiancé Zackary Quinn, granddaughter Makaila Paige Judkins, grandson Douglas Riggs Fenton, granddaughter Zoey McKenzie Quinn and grandson Cameron Edward Quinn. He is also survived by siblings Hanes Neil Riggs, Billy Faye Berryhill, William Dale Riggs and wife Twanna, a very close family friend-Jack Taff and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Riggs.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center so that Wilson may continue to save animals such as the ones that he left behind and truly loved- Baylee-Ann, Lexus, Roxanne, and Vegas.

Wilson was a great man!
