edgar_willieWillie Egger also known as “W.C. Egger”, “Bud Egger”, and “Will Egger” passed away at Brownwood Regional Medical Center Feb. 17, 2013 after a long illness.

He was born to Calvin Egger and Cora (Goins) Egger on May 27, 1928 in Indian Creek, TX.
Willie attended Indian Creek School. At a young age he loved to ride in rodeos and go dancing. For most of his life he was a paint contractor in the Brownwood, San Angelo, and Abilene area. He was well known for being a mechanic and fixing just about anything that needed to be fixed. One of his greatest joys was taking his dogs and going fox hunting. At one time he had a world champion dog, Willie was very proud of that. He served his country as a M.P. in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan for a couple of years. After he got out of the Army he married Lola Marie Matheny. Together they had 7 children.

Willie he survived by his children Barbara Rainey of Abilene, TX, David Egger of Zephyr, Ricky Egger of Corpus Christi, TX, Norma Egger of Clyde, TX, Brenda Egger of Abilene, TX, Jimmy Don Egger of Abilene, TX; fifteen grandkids; 40 great-grandkids; 6 great-great-grandkids; sister Billie M Smith of Abilene, TX; and brother Johnny Egger of Abilene, TX; also left behind are several nieces and nephews; and many friends in San Angelo, Abilene, Brownwood.

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Lola Marie, son Roger Dale Egger, two sisters Cora Lorene Minica and Betty Lucile Newcomb.

Willie will be missed by all of them for his way of making all of them laugh, the jokes he would pull, and the love that he showed to everyone.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday Feb. 22 at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating with interment following at Ebony Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family Thursday evening from 6-8PM at Blaylock Funeral Home. Condolences can be made for the family at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
