Funeral Services for William Lee “Stony” Stone, 64, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. His family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Stone passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
William Lee Stone was born September 6, 1945 in Brownwood, Texas to Austin and Emma Bilbrey Stone. He was a 1964 graduate of Brownwood High School. On June 7, 1968 he married Roseanna Whorton in Brownwood, Texas. Mr. Stone had worked for over twenty years in the oil fields and had retired from the city of Brownwood where he had worked in various departments. Stony was an avid cook and enjoyed Barbequing with all his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Roseanna Stone of Brownwood, Texas; daughters Melody Carter of San Antonio, Texas, Crystal McClellan of Brownwood, Texas; grandchildren Alex McClellan of Brownwood, Texas, Zachary McClellan of Brownwood, Texas; sister Stella Ware and husband Jay Lee of Rising Star, Texas; mother-in-law Katy Whorton of Brownwood, Texas; and many extended family members also survive.
Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents Austin and Emma Bilbrey Stone and a brother A.J. Stone.
