Funeral Services for William Green Ammons Jr., age 87, of Lake Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 26, 2009 at the Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie Fortenberry officiating, interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 7:30 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Ammons passed away Sunday September 20, 2009 in Allen.
Bill was born February 1, 1922, in Haskell, Texas, to William Green Ammons Sr. and Roxie Ann (Goodman) Ammons.
He married Patricia Smith on January 3, 1949 in Pampa, Tx. William worked as a lab technician and moved to Brownwood in 1986 from Seagraves.
William is survived by two sons, Danny Ammons and wife Susan, of Lamesa, Tx, Shane Ammons and wife Angie of Allen,Tx; two daughters, Pam McCollister and husband Tom of Waco, Tx, and Cindy Smith and husband Jimmy of Lake Brownwood; Thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Ammons of Pampa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Patricia Ammons on December 31, 2002.
