William D. Stoner, age 84, of Early passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. William was born on April 6, 1929 in Moran. He worked in Law Enforcement and served as the Chief of Police for the City of Cisco for a number of years. He married Shirley Proffitt on October 20, 1998 in Wynona. William and Shirley have made their home in Early since 2000.
William is survived by his wife Shirley of Early, his children, William H. Stoner, Claude Stoner, Annabel Graham, Irene’ Stoner, Shayne Thomas, Melody Hashberger, and Kenny Stoner; twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Belle Jarmouth, step-father, Lou Jarmouth, father, Claude O. Watson, and a brother Bruse O. Watson.
At William’s request there will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life. Cremation is under the direction of Heartland Funeral and Cremation Service.
