William Christopher “Chris” Monroe, Jr., age 64, of Brownwood died Thursday afternoon at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
His body will be cremated under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early and a celebration of his life held later.
He was born June 19, 1946 in Brownwood the son of the late William Christopher “Bill” Monroe Sr. and the former Wanda Holley. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1964 and attended the University of Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University and later received his master’s degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State. He had lived in Brownwood for most of his life and worked as an insurance adjuster.

His sister – Martha Monroe Maddux of Taylor
His grandchildren – Clayton Monroe of Odessa, Kambree Monroe of Odessa,
Isabella “Belle” Monroe of Oklahoma, Emerson Jones of Brownwood,
Carly, Carsyn, and Katie Grace Carter all of Spring Branch
His Aunt, Mary Marshall Holley of Brownwood
His niece, Christi Bittick and husband Chris of Austin and daughters, Taryn Holley and Kaelyn Mae Bittick
Several cousins also survive.
