Jetton001Bill was born on March 18, 1946 in Haskell, TX to Ted and Faye Jetton.  He grew up and attended school in Weinert, TX.  As he grew up, he learned the value of hard work while working on his families farm.  Along the way, he met the one and only love of his life, Dorothy Raynes.

After becoming high school sweethearts, they married on February 24, 1967.  After brief stays in Abilene, TX and New Orleans, LA, they settled in Brownwood, TX.  Once in Brownwood, Bill started working for an Insurance Agency.  In 1975, he became a partner in what would become Jetton & Dodds Insurance Adjusters.  He owned and worked in that business from 1975 – 2000.  In 2000, he and Dorothy bought Armstrong-McCall Beauty Supply in Brownwood and later bought the Armstrong-McCall in Stephenville, TX.

Bill and his family have been members of The Austin Avenue Church of Christ since coming to Brownwood.  Bill served as a deacon for many years.  He was very proud that he had raised a family of Christian men and women.  He also served as a board member for Brownwood Independent School District for eight years, four of which, he served as board President.

In the last several years, he spent most of his time with Dorothy going to all of his grandchildrens sporting events.  Nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with his wife and family.  Bill was a sports fan, and loved to watch his grandchildren play football and soccer.  He was an official at the Texas UIL State Track Meet for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jetton, of Brownwood.  His mother, Faye Jetton, of Brownwood.  His daughter and son in law, Craig and Jami Clements of Brownwood.  His daughter and son in law, Joe and Lori Reeves of Brownwood.  His son and daughter in law, Brad and Christi Jetton of Brownwood.  Don and Sandra Stafford of Montana.  Jackie Frantz of Montana.  Claud and Jimmie Young of Seymour, TX.  His grandchildren are, Cody Clements, Logan Gough, Cacy Clements, Slaten Gough, Hunter Reeves, Jaten Reeves, Braden Jetton, Cade Jetton, Keaton Reeves, Kinley Reeves, and Jake Jetton.

Funeral services for Bill Jetton, age 63 of Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday Dec. 3 at the Austin Ave Church of Christ with Tom Washburn officiating.  Interment will follow in the Jordan Springs Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
