The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct a multi-county stocker cattle and wheat program on October 14th in Cross Plains for ranchers interested in cattle and wheat.
The program will begin at 6:00p.m. at the Community Center in Cross Plains.
Dr. Ted McCollum, Extension Beef Specialist from Amarillo will discuss the importance of wheat forage availability and the value of weight gain in stocker cattle.
Dr. Jason Johnson, Extension Economist from Stephenville will discuss expected returns of wheat pasture cattle and decision making of dual production.
Jerry Warren, Callahan County Extension Agent said,” stocker cattle are an integral enterprise in the area and producers need the latest information”.Scott Anderson, Brown County Extension Agent said, “With high cattle prices, producers will really need to pay attention to details as margins get tight”.
