With the gentle rains after long spells of dry weather, city streets became slick and hazardous resulting in wrecks in Brownwood, according to police.
A pickup truck flipped on its side and crashed into the landscaping in front of Skillets on E. Commerce Thursday afternoon after the driver lost control of the vehicle. Police report that the driver was not injured and was able to walk away from the accident.
Thursday afternoon, a small white passenger car collided with dividing wall while entering the Vine Street underpass near the Depot Civic and Cultural Center. Heavy damage was sustained to the front of the car. The driver was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Brownwood police report that the weather played a role in both accidents.
