The British Invasion of the 1960s takes place again on August 6th at the Brownwood Coliseum in Brownwood, Texas. The two most popular rock groups of all time, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones will be represented by the internationally known tribute bands, Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash. The evening will provide alternating sets with the two bands coming together on stage for an amazing encore which makes this show a once-in-a-lifetime event. A musical “shoot out of the hits” complete with costume changes to answer the liveliest debate in rock history…which band is the greatest?
The event, which benefits the West Texas Rehabilitation Center is Presented by Central Texas Farm Credit; Entertainment Sponsor, KTAB NEWS; Stage Sponsors – Accurate Air Solutions, Affiliated Bank and Black Plumbing. Additional support comes from Citizens National Bank of Brownwood, and KOHLER Company of Brownwood.The Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road brings the mop top haircuts, harmonies and boyish charm of everybody’s favorite “Liverpudlians” to the stage. They also play modern reissues of the exact same instruments and amps used by the Fab Four. Jumping Jack Flash has the privilege of re-creating a Rolling Stones live performance by delivering what audiences come to see…the theatrics and power of the great band in its prime. Music from all periods of the bands’ legendary careers will be offered for the evening.

Instrumental in the success of the event are program committee members Calvin Fryar, John Guest, Anna Hernandez, Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club Members, Ted & Martha Shelton, Rex Tackett, Dana Thompson and Evy Winn. Host Hotel for this year’s event is La Quinta Inn of Brownwood.
The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit organization formed in 1953 which is dedicated to providing outpatient rehabilitative care to more than 500 children and adults each day, regardless of a patient’s financial circumstance. Proceeds from events help support patient services in order to improve the quality of life of all those served by the Rehab Center.
