Brownwood ISD is getting geared up for the new school year and held an orientation Friday, August 12 for new teachers coming into the district.
The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce hosted breakfast for the more than 20 new teachers to kick off their orientation. Chamber ambassadors arrived early to cook pancakes and sausage for the event. The Chamber also provided goodie bags for each new teachers filled with coupons and promotional items donated by area businesses.
“I really appreciate the Brownwood Chamber ambassadors coming in and cooking a great home-made breakfast and putting the goodie bags together for our new teachers,” said Brownwood ISD Superintendent Reece Blincoe. “It really helps welcome the teachers to the community and sets the tone for a great year to come.”
BISD will have their convocation on Monday, August 15 to officially kick-off the school year for all teachers and staff in the district. The official first day of school for students is Monday, August 22.
“We really like meeting with our new teachers and spending some one-on-one time with them prior to the convocation on Monday,” Blincoe said. “Our principals have done a great job of hiring top quality staff and it was evident today. What a great group of new teachers for our district.”
