Gas prices in the Brownwood & surrounding area remained relatively steady this week. The price range for regular unleaded fuel ranges from $2.45-$2.59 per gallon today in Brownwood & Early. This is the same price range as last week although oil prices are trending higher.
Oil closed at $73.89 per barrel for October futures on Friday, up about $4 per barrel from last week. Oil began to rally towards the end of the week on reports that oil stockpiles were down from the week before. Oil briefly jumped to $75 per barrel during inter-day trading on Friday which was a record for the year. INO.com is reporting that technical indicators show oil opening steady to slightly higher on Monday.
The state’s average fuel price was steady overall as well for the past week. According to Gasbuddy.com, the average price for regular unleaded fuel was down .03 cents from this time last week to $2.48 per gallon in Texas and is trending sideways.
