Brownwood & Early gasoline prices are showing some increases at the pump compared to last week with oil and wholesale gas prices showing a modest increase.
September crude oil price closed at $70.93 per barrel on Friday, just slightly up from last weeks close. Wholesale gas prices made a similar move with a slight increase over last week but showing some weakness in Friday trading. INO.com is reporting that technical data is indicating a possible steady to lower opening price for Monday.
Prices at the pump locally are showing some increases with prices ranging from $2.45-$2.59 per gallon of regular unleaded in Brownwood & Early. This is up about .05-.10 cents per gallon compared to this time last week. Gasbuddy.com is showing the state’s average of regular unleaded to be $2.50 per gallon which is up about .09 cents from last weeks number.
Gas prices have been increasing over the last few weeks, but the market numbers are showing that short term prices are likely to level off and perhaps drop slightly unless any unexpected supply & demand news comes out in the next week.
The average price of regular unleaded fuel in Texas this time last year was $3.65 per gallon as it came off all time record highs.
