Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.
Lake Brownwood
Water clear; 82 degrees; 5.87′ low. Black bass to 4 pounds are excellent on perch colored R.J.A. Custom crankbaits and redbug and watermelon GrandeBass Finesse worms. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are excellent on Li’l Fishies over brush piles in 10 – 12 feet. Channel catfish are good over baited holes in 8 – 10 feet. Yellow catfish to 15 pounds are excellent on trotlines baited with perch in 3 – 10 feet.Lake Coleman
Water murky; 80 degrees; 7.98′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red and watermelon green spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 20 – 30 feet. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.
O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 22.66′ low. Black bass are good on green pumpkin or red shad soft plastics, baby bass crankbaits, white spinnerbaits, and live bait worked along grass lines and timber. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait and chrome crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on shad–colored soft plastic jerkbaits and live bait along tree lines. Channel catfish are good on live and cut bait.
Lake Proctor
Water murky; 80 degrees; 1.63′ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and soft plastic worms early. White bass are excellent on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with goldfish. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
