Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.
Lake Brownwood
Water lightly stained; 56–60 degrees; 15.85′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits, Persuader crankbaits, and white soft plastic worms over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and pet spoons off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes in 12–20 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 62–65 degrees; 15.82′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are good on live minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.
O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 51–56 degrees; 37.94′ low. Black bass are fair to good on squarebill crankbaits, Rat–L–Traps, Texas rigs and 1/4oz. shakyheads with a 4.5″ RattleSnake. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.
Lake Proctor
Water clear; 57–61 degrees; 7.62′ low. Black bass are good on purple, watermelon, and chartreuse soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on perch colored Rat–L–Traps. White bass are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
