Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week
Lake Brownwood
Water stained; 65 degrees; 6.81′ low. Black bass are good on Sexy Shad Bass Hogg spinnerbaits, black/blue Bass Hogg jigs, watermelon red Grande Bass Finesse worms, and crankbaits in main lake coves and rock cuts. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are excellent on Li’l Fishies, small Rat–L–Traps, and shad crankbaits. Crappie are excellent on Li’l Fishies and tube jigs under corks along shorelines in 1 – 3 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake Coleman
Water murky; 64 degrees; 7.96′ low. Black bass are fair on soft plastic lizards, crankbaits, jerkbaits, and moccasin blue worms. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake O. H. Ivie
Water lightly stained; 61 degrees; 21.61′ low. Black bass to 13 pounds are good on watermelon red soft plastics, white spinnerbaits and live bait worked along timber, channels and drop–offs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on live bait and striper–colored crankbaits. Smallmouth bass are good on live bait and crankbaits. Channel catfish are good on live bait. Six Toyota ShareLunkers ranging from 13.04 to 14.22 pounds have been caught at O. H. Ivie since 3/27/10.
Lake Proctor
Water murky; 61 degrees; 1.34′ low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on fresh shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
