Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.
Lake Brownwood
Water clear; 13.10′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps over grass, and on watermelon soft plastic worms with chartreuse tails around structure. Hybrid striper are fair on shad and green striper jigs. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait and cut bait. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 76–79 degrees; 13.37′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch. Yellow catfish are slow.
O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 85–89 degrees; 29.32′ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Yum Dingers and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Rooster Tails. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.
Lake Proctor
Water stained; 81–84 degrees; 7.70′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are good on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
