Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.
Lake Brownwood
Water clear; 10.42′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon and black/blue Persuader crankbaits, Bass Hogg jigs, and GrandeBass Trickster worms over brush piles. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and crankbaits under lights at night. Crappie are fair on and minnows over brush piles in 10 – 20 feet. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 63 – 66 degrees; 11.56′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are good on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 66–70 degrees; 29.32′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.
Lake Proctor
Water stained; 66 – 70 degrees; 6.96′ low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. White bass are fair on minnows and trolling crankbaits. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live shad and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
