Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.
Lake Brownwood
Water clear; 57 degrees; 9.55′ low. Black bass are fair on small crankbaits, chartreuse spinnerbaits, and watermelon worms over brush in 15 – 30 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and minnows under lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs over brush piles in 10 – 25 feet. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait, hot dogs, and shrimp in 10 – 20 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 55 degrees; 10.75′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastic worms with chartreuse tails. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
O. H. Ivie Reservoir
Water lightly stained; 45–49 degrees; 27.16′ low. Black bass are fair on jigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
Lake Proctor
Water stained; 57 degrees; 5.85′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse Rat–L–Traps, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and dark blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
