Below are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Lake Brownwood
Water stained; 78–82 degrees; 2.06’ low. Black bass are excellent on topwaters and Shaky heads with red bug and watermelon Grande Bass Finesse worms. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are good on Li’l Fishies over brush piles in 6–12 feet and under lighted docks at night in 8–15 feet. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch in 5–15 feet.
Lake Coleman
Water murky; 81–85 degrees; 7.53’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are fair on white striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 74–83 degrees; 45.17’ low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to split shot rigged flukes, Texas rigs and finesses jigs. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on live bait.
Lake Proctor
Water murky; 82–86 degrees; 0.75’ low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are fair on shad.
