Below are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Lake Brownwood
Water clear; 52–56 degrees; 12.57′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse jigs, crankbaits, and watermelon worms in 10–25 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on Li’l Fishies and minnows over brush piles in 10–25 feet. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, minnows and frozen shrimp in 10–20 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 56–60 degrees; 19.32′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon and dark red soft plastics, Rat–L–Traps, and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 42–46 degrees; 43.23′ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, jigs and shakyheads. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.
Lake Proctor
Water murky; 56–60 degrees; 12.78′ low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on frozen shad and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.
