Below are the fishing reports for area lakes, compiled as reported this week by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Lake Brownwood
Water stained; 82–86 degrees; 11.60′ low. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Blue catfish are good on cheesebait in 5-10 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch and goldfish in 3-10 feet.
Lake Coleman
Water clear; 79–83 degrees; 17.99′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red and watermelon green spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 20–30 feet. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.O.H. Ivie Reservoir
Water stained; 76–84 degrees; 38.74′ low. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics, Texas rigs, jigs and medium swimbaits. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs shallow.
Lake Proctor
Water murky; 81–85 degrees; 10.58′ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and soft plastic worms early. Striped bass are good on live shad. White bass are excellent on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with goldfish. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
