Two vehicles collided under the Truman Harlow Overpass Wednesday afternoon with one striking the railroad crossing lights.

The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Carnegie/Coleman and Main Street.  According to emergency responders, the Dodge pickup was traveling southwest through the intersection and failed to yield the right of way to a Chevy Suburban which was traveling north on Main Street.  The impact sent the Suburban into the railroad crossing lights causing significant damage to its front end.  The passenger side of the Suburban was also heavily damaged.  The Dodge pickup also sustained front end damage from the collision.

The elderly male driver of the Dodge pickup did not appear to be injured.  The male driver of the Suburban was evaluated by EMS but was not transported; he also appeared to be uninjured.

Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Allegiance Ambulance responded to the scene of the accident.
