Wayne Nicholas, age 64, of Gualala, California passed away Tuesday May 3, at 10:30 pm in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after recently being diagnosed with cancer. Wayne was 1965 graduate of Bangs HS and married Diana Jan Huggins-Haught of Bangs in 1976.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife Diana Nicholas, daughter Ayla Nicholas, and granddaughters Anaise Ronne and Amelia Ronne all of Gualala, California. He has a son Darin Parks in Boulder, Colorado and a grandson Tanner Parks. Wayne also has 7 brothers Roland “Rick” Nicholas of Bangs; Randy Nicholas of Brownwood; Glen Dulin of Bend, Oregon; Kenneth Dulin of Lebanon, Oregon; David Dulin of Florida; Bill Nicholas of San Marcos; and John Nicholas of Menard. There are 3 sisters: Nadie (Nicholas) Stroud living in Hong Kong, China; Helen (Nicholas) Jodoin of San Antonio; and Wanda (Nicholas) Barnett of San Antonio. Wayne is also survived by many other loving friends and family members that are spread out from the west coast to the east coast and overseas.
Wayne was preceded in death by both sets of parents: “Nick” and Radie Nicholas of Bangs, Texas and “Sonny” and Ann Garcia; a “special brother” (cousin) Lee Roy Cullins; and 2 brothers: SL “Butch” Nicholas and Damon Nicholas.
Wayne was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be planned at a later date through Netherton Funeral Home.
