Waymon L. Phillips, 83 of Brownwood, TX, died February 7, 2011 at home surrounded by family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 11, 2011 in Eastlawn Memorial Park of Early, TX.

He was born in Rural Shade, TX; the son of late Nellie and John Phillips.  He was the youngest of 4 siblings.  In January 1970 he married Carmen Porter who survives.  He served in the U.S. Armed Services.  After serving he married Linda Beasley in 1948 and located to Big Spring, TX.  He was employed by Cosden Oil and Chemical as an electronics technician.


He enjoyed fun and laughter with grandchildren, family gatherings and the many friendships he fostered.  He was a skilled craftsman, marksman and enjoyed outdoor activities and work.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Debi and Robert McNabb of Houston, TX; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Cynthia Phillips of Colleyville, TX; step-daughter Linda Padgett of Waco, TX; daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Jordan Eighmy of Henderson, NV; son Joey Phillips of Brownwood, TX; daughter-in-law Ellen Phillips of Big Spring, TX; daughter-in-law Virginia Padgett of Brownwood, TX; grand children Amy, Connor and Brady Phillips of Big Spring, TX; Cameron Phillips of Colleyville, TX; Andrea Phillips Casteel of Eugene, OR; Robbe McNabb of Houston, TX;  Shiloh and Cheyenne Padget of Clyde, TX

Mr. Phillips was preceeded in death by his son Greg Phillips of Big Spring, TX; and step-son Michael Padgett of Brownwood, TX.
