Waymon Johnson, 81 of DeLeon passed from this life on December 22, 2017. He was born to Mary Anna Keithley Johnson on July 8, 1936 in Monahans, Texas. Waymon was raised in Kermit, Texas by his mother and grandmother Mary Ola Keithley. He married Beverly Brownlee on March 16, 1958 in Kermit. He retired from Cabot and moved to DeLeon in1999.
Best known as papa, he loved to fish, he was always ready to help a neighbor, always had a story to tell and a smile on his face! He was our sturdy foundation we could always count on in good times or bad. He will be greatly missed by all 29 of us!
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Beverly, daughter Cathy (Joe Cooksey) Copeland of Brownwood, son Jim (Debbie) Johnson of Big Piney, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cross Country Nursing Home for the loving care of our Papa during his last days. May God bless each and every one of you!
Funeral services for Waymon will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel.
