Brownwood News – The Brown County Water Improvement District #1 Board of Directors met Tuesday afternoon, July 9, passed a budget and set water rates for the next year.

According to General Manager, John Allen, the 2019-2020 budget will be $3,053,550.00 which is a slight increase in dollars of .66% from last year.

The treated water rate to Water Improvement District customers will be 1.6646 per thousand gallons which is a DECREASE of .003 % from last year.

The Water District lowered the water rate to try and help their customers who have experienced low water sales this year because of the generous rains.

The Water Board also appointed James McMillian, owner of McMillian Rustic Furniture, to the Board to fill the unexpired term of John Hays.
