walmartOn Saturday, October 24th, over 40 people and 11 Girl Scouts from a local troop in Brownwood and a troop in San Angelo,  set off to do a Tae Bo® A Thon sponsored by Fit By Faith Gym to raise money for troops stationed overseas.  The goal was to raise pledge money by doing as many Tae Bo classes possible in order to provide Christmas gifts for the soldiers!

Another goal was to test participants mentally and physically so they could put themselves “through the fire” to help understand what military troops go through everyday.

Fit By Faith owner Krista Johnson said, “The only difference is they don’t get to go home to a nice warm bed and bath after it is all done.  We appreciate and love our troops so much and we want them to groupknow it through Christmas gifts.”

Wal-mart of Brownwood donated $1000 to the Billy Blanks Foundation, which funds this cause.  Billy Blanks is the creator of Tae Bo® and has certified all the instructors at Fit By Faith and also has them go to yearly camps to re-certify.

Fit By Faith is a fully equipped fitness center for the entire family that offers many different types of classes such as Tae Bo®, Yoga Stretch, SilverSneakers for seniors, Low impact Aerobics, Circuit Training, Sculpting, Step Aerobics and much more such as private and semi-private personal training, The Quest 12 (a 12 week weight loss program), CPR Training, Reflexology and more!  Fit By Faith also offers fantastic child care.

–While the Tae Bo® A Thon took place, Krista received a call from a man who was in town for the HPU Homecoming.  He was looking for a gym to workout in for the day and happened to be a Colonel who just came back from Iraq!  He was so touched at what was happening that he stopped by and talked with participants.  Colonel Dougherty is pictured with the group on the right.
