A memorial service for Will Roy “Bill” Long, 76, will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with a private interment at Rocky Creek Cemetery. He died Sept. 14, 2012 in the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center, Bonham. Bill was born April 10, 1936 in Brownwood; he was a 1954 Brownwood High School graduate, attended Lon Morris College and served his country in the U.S. Army. He spent most of his career in sales in the Dallas Metroplex and owned several businesses while living in Brownwood.
He is proceed in death by his parents, Nelda Seward Long & Roy Long, his aunts, Gladys Seward, Sadie Seward Braat, Opal McKenzie Havens and uncles, Ellis Seward and Ray Long.
He is survived by his former wife Lynn Harris Long of Arlington, sister, Ann Jones and husband Jimmy of Brownwood, a step-daughter, Jan Kent and husband Dale of Durant, OK; step-sons, John Harris, and Scott Harris; grandchildren, Denny Applewhite, Corbin Harris, Mallory Harris, Tristin Harris and great grandchildren Ryan, Maryssa and Reid Applewhite; nephews, Marc & Jason Jones and cousins Barbara Seward Taylor, Nan Seward Mello, Nancy Braat, Sam Seward, Steven Long, John McKenzie, and Joe McKenzie.
