“We’re voting for a President, not a pastor”. I’ve heard that in commentary several times in regards to the Presidential election. Consider what Mitt Romney has said recently:

“We’re a nation that believes that we’re all children of the same God.”

“This nation is the hope of the earth”.

President Obama has said we are no longer a Christian nation and heavily supports socialist agendas and anti-Christian behaviors.

“There can’t be one God only (Christianity/Islam) and yet many Gods (Hinduism). There can’t be salvation through Christ alone and yet no salvation at all. There can’t be the belief in reincarnation (Hinduism/Buddhism) and yet the belief of eternal life in the presence of God (Christianity). There can’t be a Son of God claim (Christianity) and yet the belief he was only a prophet (Islam),”  “How can these beliefs all be true? The answer is simply — they can’t.” -(Frontline Apologetics)

If Christians do not make a distinction between what the Bible says and what Romney says, where does that leave us?

I remember reading about when Richard Wurmbrand stood up in the midst of a Communist Congress meeting in Romania in World War 2 . Four thousands priests, pastors, and ministers of all denominations chose Joseph Stalin as honorary president of this congress. At the same time Stalin was a mass murderer of Christians. One after another, they rose and declared that communism and Christianity are fundamentally the same and could coexist. They assured the government of the loyalty of the church.

Richard’s wife Sabina told him, “Richard, stand up and wash away this shame from the face of Christ! They are spitting in His face.” Richard replied, “If I do so, you lose your husband.” She replied, “I don’t wish to have a coward as a husband.”

Richard stood up to proclaim Jesus Christ. For this, he spent fourteen years in prison, tortured, and sometimes, completely isolated.

The following from “Tortured for Christ” by Richard Wurmbrand:

Rapp, deputy bishop of the Lutheran church in Romania, began to teach God had given three revelations: One through Moses, one through Jesus, and the third through Stalin, the last superseding the one before.

The president of the Congress of the Baptists praised Stalin as a great teacher of the Bible and said he fulfilled the commandments of God.

True Baptists did not agree and were faithful to Christ and suffered much. However, the Communists “elected” their leaders and the Baptists had no choice but to accept them.

Those who became servants of communism instead of Christ began to denounce the brethren who did not join them.

Will Christians call for a distinction and clarification from Mitt Romney regarding his statements?

For distinctions between Mormonism and Christianity:

What is the hope of the earth? Is it America? Ephesians 2: 12 “remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

The hope of the earth is Christ! It is not Mormon doctrine or America.
