The Brownwood Lyric Theatre is seeking help from the public to secure a $50,000 grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project.
The Lyric will be competing against other projects from across the country for the grant money, and a simple click of a mouse or text message can help the organization move one step closer to opening the doors to the Lyric Theatre in Downtown Brownwood. Community members can vote for the Lyric project in one of two ways:
#1 – Visit the website www.refresheverything.com and search “lyric performing” to find the project. Participants may be required to register with the website initially to vote, but can vote daily after that.
#2 – Votes can be cast by texting the Lyric’s unique text-to-vote mobile code 106150 to Pepsi at 73774. Standard text messaging rates apply.
Voting closes on May 31st and only the top 10 projects will be allowed to advance to the next phase of the grant competition.
“We are seeking broad community support to help secure this grant,” stated Eric Evans of the Brownwood Lyric Theatre. “We are moving into our final stages of completing the Lyric’s restoration project, and this would be a huge help in making it a reality.”
