Brownwood News – After a very rainy Spring, and high water at Proctor Lake, the levels are coming down and it’s time to get the lake ready for Summer.

Volunteer Cleanup at Proctor Lake has been announced for this Saturday, June 29.  According to the Army Corps of Engineers, volunteers are asked to meet at Sowell Creek Park at 9 o’clock this Saturday morning for a full day of cleanup.

Bring shovels, rakes, gloves or just yourself and staff members will provide volunteers the needed items.  Work will be done in various parks around Proctor Lake.

As of now, the Copperas Creek Day Use area, Sowell Creek Day Use and Promontory Day use areas are all open.

It is anticipated that all facilities at Proctor Lake will be open as of July 2, 2019, after heavy rains and high water through the Spring months.
