feazellVirgil Leslie Feazell, 84, passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at home. He was born on June 11, 1929 in Midland Texas to Virgel Feazell and Myrtle Lindsey Feazell.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rose Marie of Brady, children Shelly, Sherry, Pamela, Michael and Denise, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His sister Betty Jo Shelton of Lubbock and four nieces also survive him.

Virgil, U.S. Air Force retired was an avid reader and student of the Bible. His voracious appetite for the written word evidenced his quest for knowledge. He never tired of engaging others in conversations pertaining to what he’d learned. It was especially important to him to pass on his wealth of knowledge to his children.

He enjoyed gardening and was tireless in the planning, planting and harvesting. In addition to gardening he could fix virtually anything. In his words he would “Feazell-it.”

In the USAF he was an airplane mechanic, crew chief and missile records supervisor. He was especially proud of being part of the U-2 Project. While serving in Okinawa he developed a love for scuba diving and a fascination by other cultures.

Knowing him was an adventure in itself. He was kind-hearted and generous. He sponsored many children through International Children’s Care, a non-profit dedicated to life-preparation, support and care for orphaned and vulnerable children in developing countries. Many of the children are now productive adults in their home countries.

As he wished Virgil was cremated and no funeral services are planned.
