VLA_Oklahoma2016Victory Life Academy announces the dates of their upcoming production of Oklahoma! April 22-24 at the Lyric Theatre.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! is arguably America’s most beloved musical. Set in the Oklahoma Territory near the end of the 19th Century, Oklahoma! tells us of a time of change and growth on the American frontier. Farmers and ranchers duke it out for land, love, and bragging rights as they learn to face a brave new future in which they must work together. Young cowboy Curly and pretty farmer’s daughter Laurey, accompanied by wise Aunt Eller and cast of hilarious, colorful characters, must overcome the usual obstacles and find their way to forever. A story about life, love, and the American Dream, this beloved classic is an award-winning crowd-pleaser that is full of fun and laughs for the whole family.

A cast of 40 will take Oklahoma! to the stage with the support of the rest of the students at Victory Life Academy.  According to VSA administrative Assistant Jessica Noble, it takes all of the junior high and high school students as the cast and crew to produce the play.  Noble explained that there are a few of the students who are planning to pursue acting as a career after high school and the quality of the show is taken very seriously.
