VickEitelVick Howard Eitel, age 71, of Blanket went to be with the Lord his Savior on June 22, 2010 in Comanche, Tx. He was born February 12, 1939 in DeKalb, Tx to the late Marvin and Mable (Wilson) Eitel.

Vick married Shirley Ann Bass on August 5, 1981, and worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He was known by many names: Son, Honey, Daddy, Old man, Old fart, Brother, Daddyson, Papa, Paw, Pops as well as Pole Cat and Boogerman to his trucker friends. Vick was a man of many words and stories and he never met a stranger. He will always be loved and missed- “Enjoy your new body that God has blessed you with and enjoy it for eternal life in Heaven. I love you Bigger, your wife Shirley”, “I love you Daddy for eternity, your daughter Deborah Sue.”, “God has embraced you with his wonderful and beautiful love, your grandson Royce III.”

Vick has joined his parents and a great grandson, Xavier in Heaven.

He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley Eitel of Blanket; seven children; a brother; three sisters; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

A Service of Celebration for Vick’s life will be held at a later date. Davis Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
