Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Ladies Auxiliary will observe the 69th anniversary of the defense of Pearl Harbor from the Japanese attack December 7, 1941 at their monthly joint meeting December 8, 2010 at 6:30pm.
The Post and Auxiliary members will observe the event by reading the historical background of the attack and with a prayer and moment of silence for the fallen. The Post will then recognize one of its Pacific War Veterans, George O’Dell Duncan, with the Commemorative Victory Over Japan Medal.
Mr. Duncan served on the USS Henry Tucker, a Destroyer, during the war against the Japanese.
