VFWDonationToWalkerCancerCenter

On behalf of the VFW Post 3278 Ladies’ Auxiliary, Margaret Kerby-Treasurer & Cancer Aid/Research Chairman recently presented a $1,500 donation to Gail Hightower, LMSW of the Walker Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund.

Because the Walker Cancer Center at Brownwood Regional Medical Center is a regional center, many patients face hardship with daily travel to and from BRMC.  The patient assistance fund was established to assist local cancer patients who utilize the services of the Walker Cancer Center and may need help with necessities.  These include purchasing fuel cards so travel to Walker Cancer Center may be possible or these funds may be used to purchase nausea medication or other things associated with their cancer treatments.

Anyone who would like to make a donation to the Walker Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund, please call 325-649-5000 or mail a  donation to the Walker Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund at 1501 Burnet Drive, Brownwood, TX 76801.
