Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3278 and the Ladies Auxiliary held a successful barbeque rib fundraiser which benefitted both the Brown County Museum and the family of Nick Ferguson and Amy Abernathy on Friday.
The VFW members along with the ladies auxiliary served over 200 plates by the fundraisers end plus many more ribs sold by the pound. It was a tasty way to help two worthy causes.
The family of Nick Ferguson and Amy Abernathy recently lost their home in a Christmas Eve fire. Nick is one of the City of Brownwood’s animal control officers and Amy works as the animal cruelty investigator for the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center in Brownwood.
The Brown County Museum of History is located at 212 N. Broadway Street. The hours of operation are on Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Special tours are available by calling 325-641-1926.
