Vera N. Brooks-McMullen 58 of Brownwood passed away Wednesday February 22, 2017 at Brownwood Nursing and Rehab Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church at 911 Beaver ST. a visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home.
Vera was born March 2, 1958 in Lubbock TX, to the parents of Willie Ray Brooks Sr. and Marie Brooks Degrate. Vera started her education in Lubbock until she was 10. In 1968 the family moved to Brownwwood and she would finish her schooling. Vera worked as a CNA for many years caring for people when they most needed her. She was very outgoing, and was the life of the party. Vera was a loving caring person who cared for numerous children over the years.
Vera was preceded in death by parents, and brothers; Jody Brooks, Arthur Earl Degrate, and Jerry Brooks
