Emergency responders were called to a one-vehicle accident on 4th Street Wednesday afternoon.
A Ford Expedition struck a utility pole near the intersection of 4th and Broadmoor, breaking it in two, as it left the road due to a mechanical failure. According to emergency responders, the driver reported that the steering wheel locked up as the vehicle was driving south.
No injuries were reported; however, the utility pole was severely damaged and will have to be replaced. Oncor Energy was informed of the damage and responded to the scene. The Expedition sustained front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.
