The Early Police Department responded to a vehicle roll over call at about 8pm Thursday evening on the corner of Northline Dr & Canal Street in Early.  Officer Johnny Brown and Officer Nathan Land were dispatched as well as Brownwood & Early Fire Departments and Guardian EMS to respond to reported injuries.

In a police report released by Early Police Chief David Mercer, a 17 year old female lost control of a 2000 Dodge Neon as it slid on some gravel and rolled over.  A breath test conducted on the driver indicated that she was driving while intoxicated and was arrested and also cited for no drivers licence and no insurance.

The owner of the car, 22 year old Tamara New was a passenger and was also arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor.

According to the report, a 3rd passenger (a 17 year old female) fled the scene and was later located and questioned about the incident. She stated that she did not return to the scene of the accident because she “freaked out.”

Also in the vehicle were a 2 year old and a 3 year old who were released to another relative and taken to the hospital.
