Authorities recovered a 2005 Chevy Pickup from Jim Ned Creek on Saturday morning after a passerby reported seeing part of the vehicle showing from the top of the water.   A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy confirmed the sighting and contacted the Texas Department of Public Safety who initially assisted in investigating the incident.

Fortunately, no one was found inside of the vehicle, but authorities did find a basketball sized rock in the driver’s side floorboard the Sheriff’s report state.   Officials at the scene said that it was about a 15 foot drop from street level to the water of the creek where the incident occurred.

The owner of the vehicle was called to the scene and told deputies that he discovered his truck was missing around 10am the same day the vehicle was discovered in the creek.  The vehicle was found in the Jim Ned just off of County Road 105 near Thrifty at the northwest corner of Lake Brownwood.

The Brown County Sheriff’s office is continuing their investigation of the incident.
