NewInspectionStickersVehicle owners may do a double take this year as they take their cars and trucks in to get their annual state inspection sticker.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a newly designed one year vehicle safety certificate for non-emission counties effective as of July 23, 2009.  The new stickers feature a dark brown image of a cowboy riding a horse displayed on a tan background.  These new inspection stickers are a marked difference from the much lighter color stickers that have been in circulation for the past several years.

The DPS said that the old vehicle safety inspection stickers are still valid and will be phased out.  These newly designed inspection stickers are just now being put in circulation in the Brownwood area though a certified vehicle safety inspection station.  The price for the inspections did not increase and continue to be $14.50.
