Brownwood Police were called to the Luxury Inn, located on West Commerce, regarding a vehicle which had crashed into a room at the motel Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:25 a.m. according to Brownwood Police Department.

When officers arrived, the vehicle and those involved were not on scene.  A woman who was involved was later found at her home and a male subject had been transported to an Abilene hospital for treatment of his injuries sustained during the accident, said BPD Assistant Chief James Fuller.

Initially the accident had been reported as a person struck by a vehicle, but officers determined that the parties involved had been attempting to use jumper cables to “jump off” a vehicle which somehow was put into gear causing the accident.  The vehicle struck the wall and went approximately a foot into the motel room, according to law enforcement.

No criminal charges have been filed.  At this time, the incident is being investigated as an accident; however, it occurred on private property and the parties involved have not provided much information to police, said Fuller.
