According to Abilene police, 64-year-old Kenneth “Wayne” Horton was driving a 2007 grey Honda Silver Wing motor scooter on Highway 351 when it struck a white 2005 Toyota Corolla that was going through the intersection at East Lake Road.
Horton struck the passenger side of the Corolla after trying to brake prior to the collision, according to the preliminary investigation. Horton was taken to Hendrick Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The crash is still under investigation.
Horton had recently served as the interim minister of the Early Church of Christ according to church officials.
