The Howard Payne athletic department announced on Thursday (Aug 8) that Jesus Vasquez would be the new women’s and men’s assistant soccer coach.
Jesus Vasquez has spent the past two seasons working as an assistant coach with the men’s program at Howard Payne. He has been an integral part of recruiting, practice planning and game instruction for the program. Vasquez has also worked several camps around the state over the past two years.
“I am excited about the opportunity,” said Jesus Vasquez. “It will be a great experience to work with both programs and help them to continue to grow.”
Vasquez, who begins his new duties immediately, graduated with honors from Howard Payne in 2012 with a degree in Spanish education.
Jesus spent his first two years at Hill Junior College before transferring to Howard Payne in the fall of 2010, playing in 24 games over two seasons for the Yellow Jackets. He was named Academic All-Conference his senior season.
