A favorite summertime tradition for many children and church members, Vacation Bible Schools and kids’ camps are taking place at many local churches this summer. Volunteers are working hard to make special experiences and memories for children. Customarily offered are weeks full of learning about God and Christian teachings, arts & crafts, plus Kool-Aid and lots of cookies.
Schedules of vacation Bible schools and kids camps that are being offered this week and in the coming weeks are below.
Thursdays, June 16 through July 28 – Austin Avenue Church of Christ
Austin Avenue Church of Christ will begin their Kids Matter Kamp this Thursday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Kids Matter Kamp meets every Thursday morning through the end of July. This year the camp is Olympic themed, “Let the Games Begin.” Kids that have finished Kindergarten through kids that finished 5th grade are invited to attend. June 27-July 1 – Coggin Avenue Baptist Church
Coggin Avenue Baptist Church will host their annual VBS from 9 a.m.-12 noon on June 27 – July 1. CABC invites children 5 yrs. old-6th Grade to “Come get Submerged with us at Coggin Avenue Baptist VBS!” Attendees will be diving deep into God’s word discovering how much He loves our uniqueness. Registration will be at VBS. No pre-registration required. Coggin Avenue Baptist Church is located at 1815 Coggin Avenue in Brownwood.
June 27-29 – Midtown Baptist Church
Midtown Baptist Church, at Third and Avenue K, will have Vacation Bible School June 27-29. The time will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Vacation Bible School is for children in grades K-6, and the theme is Mount Kilimanjaro — an epic expedition through the Book of Proverbs and study of wisdom.
June 27 – 30th – Victory Life Church
Victory Life Church invites children ages 4 years to 6th grade to “hit the road with Paul” and ask some of the same questions he asked and make some incredible discoveries along the way. Grab your gear, check your GPS and get ready to “walk this way.” Registration is open and forms are available in the church office and foyer.
June 27 – July 1 – Early First Baptist Church
Early First Baptist Church will host a VBS themed “Majesty in the Manger” June 27-July 1. Early First Baptist Church is located at 103 Garmon Drive in Early, TX. For more information, please call 325-646-6596.
July 8 & 9 – Brownwood Evangelism Center
Brownwood Evangelism Center will host their vacation bible school Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 at 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. and their Sunday Celebration on July 10th at 10:00 a.m. The theme is Hay Day VBS Growing in Friendship with Jesus. Registration forms will be available online, Early Church of Christ will host their annual VBS from 6-8 PM on July 18-20. This year’s theme is Veggietales: Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. Children 3 years to 5th grade are invited to attend. Those attending will enjoy games, Bible stories, crafts, snacks, songs, and lots of fun. Registration is free. JULY 24-28 – First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church invites children to be a part of their Cave Quest VBS July 24-28 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. This summer at Cave Quest VBS at FUMC, kids will go on an over-the-top underground adventure where they’ll discover Jesus can be their trusted guiding light through life! IMAGINE… a child discovering for the first time that Jesus is the light of the world; …kids worshiping in powerful ways; …children praying for each other in the challenges they face; …adults and teens modeling Jesus’ love to children; …the kids showing God’s love to families; and…children serving each other.
