Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3278 recognized one of their members for serving 60 continuous years with the VFW.  Henry Upfold was honored with this recognition last week.

Upfold served in the Korean War (in the Infantry) with the 25th Infantry Division (Army).  He caught the ending period of the war and was then transferred to the Washington, DC Military District where he left service.  Upfold served from April 1953 – January 1956, spending 1 year 4 months and 27 days overseas.

He ended up working in Air Conditioning and Heating services for the State and FBI maintenance area.  Upfold was born in Washington, DC.

Upfold joined the VFW in Maryland and ended up in Brownwood years ago.  Pictured above is Upfold with Post Commander James Masters during the recognition.  Photo contributed.
